  Storm Freak Sonata Rain like acid jazz, a syncopated madness, beating down, slicking skin, drenching the last good thought out of my skull,  but there’s no time for that, no time at all. The world is slanted, twisted, tilting, gravity’s a cheap trick, a con job, a dealer with slick hands and bad intentions. I lurch forward, or maybe sideways, or maybe, I’m just floating, arms tangled in the chaos, fingers clawing at the thick, swollen air. Somewhere behind me, above me, inside me, the wreckage hums, blackened metal and forgotten ghosts rattling their chains, but I keep moving, because stopping, is a death wish signed in the blood of the wasted.   I'm entering Manila. Under the Metro Manila Skyway.  I'm in the shadows. The tropical sunshine creates theatrical veils. Two motorcycle riders move with an effortless grace that speaks of freedom. They weave through traffic, a fluid dance amid the fast cars and large trucks. This scene is enchanting despite the seeming danger.  The motorcycle riders are exposed and vulnerable. Yet they dance in and out of traffic with certainty and control.  Searching for safe passage through transient unoccupied space. Their journey compliments my experience as a tourist.   Silent and Co-existent poem The lounge was filled with strangers waiting for their flight. Despite the unspoken communion, the author felt isolated. The author was anxious about the possibility of a delayed or cancelled flight. Others in the lounge were also battling their uncertainties. The experience was both physical and emotional. Patience, resilience, and a willingness to confront frustration were required. The wait was temporary and would soon be over. Everyone was determined to refrain from demonstrating their inabilities. The sense of isolation was difficult to shake. The wait required a strong sense of control. The uncertainty of the situation was overwhelming. The wait required a sense of community. Gated Delusion The primary purpose of the hall in the gallery is to create a sense of presence in the present moment. It is an empty space that allows visitors to feel as if they have been there but also not been there. The room's design subtly influences the participants' values through external factors. Within each gate, personal gatekeepers appear and tell the participants that their negative thoughts and beliefs are holding them back. The predicament promotes disorderly placement through complex subconscious decision-making. But, the environment ultimately intends to control decisions through subtle and intentional influence.
