There is a Disparity in My Light: Navigating the Split Creative Consciousness

Image
There is a Disparity in My Light: Navigating the Split Creative Consciousness Introduction - does metamodernism oscillate? Clarity, I've learned, doesn't guarantee a smooth landing. While the core recalibration manages our internal mechanics, we eventually have to look back out the window and confront the final destination. For many creators navigating major life transitions or complex technical boundaries, this shift introduces an unsettling inner divide. The anatomy of disparity in creative practice is the psychological friction of a split being—standing physically present in a new space while your internal pace is still trying to catch up with the velocity of your transition. When we widen our creative intent, we often slice our universe in half: balancing cold, geometric clarity on one side against the messy, vibrant residue of personal regret on the other. Rather than forcing these halves to blend, we must learn to treat this exact contrast as our personalised map. 1. Ge...

There is a disparity in my light

Image
There is a disparity in my light Clarity, I've learned, doesn't guarantee a smooth landing. While the core recalibration manages the internal mechanics, you eventually have to look back out the window and confront the destination. Looking for a new perspective and a striking contrast to normalised assumptions, there is an abstraction to sort through. The abstraction gives way to a jagged, real-world landscape. As the light of intention widens, the splitting of the universe is somehow centred. On one side, there is a blinding, geometric clarity . The sharp, glowing decisions are on the horizon. It slices into deeply set teal patterns of clinical acceptance. It is the architectural precision of a fully realised destination that is cold and uncompromising. On the other side of the divide, the residue of regret refuses to be neatly filed away. They are vibrant, bleeding magentas and crash heavily like a restless king tide that refuses to stop. This is the whole of me. I carry...

Head in the Clouds Core Recalibration

Image
Head in the Clouds Core Recalibration Waiting is never a passive loss of time; it is a mechanism of sorting. It is the process of letting the dust settle until you are left with nothing but a clear, unshakeable axis of focus. The void didn't swallow me. By staying fully present within the liminal space, the noise has finally been transformed into a signal, the doubt has crystallised into purpose, and my mind is completely recalibrated for whatever comes next. And when, suddenly, the cabin vanishes, I rejoice. The metal hull, the rows of seats, the quiet murmurs of the other passengers, they have all dissolved as if outside the window.  My physical body is still cocooned in that cramped airline seat, but my mind has completely broken free. I’ve left the interior world behind and stepped directly out into the stratosphere. Looking at this view, it’s as if I am no longer just travelling through the sky; I am becoming a part of it. The composition is split by a blinding, brilliant hori...

Efficiency runs on Burnout

Image
Efficiency runs on Burnout The biggest misconception isn’t the pursuit of paradise; it’s the belief that constant convenience and perfect order come without pain.  When you push through exhaustion in silence,   When you distance yourself emotionally,   When the lonely effort of performing is celebrated,   Beware of the trap of striving for efficiency every single day Be Creative and Innovative with Knowledge John Bennett - AKA JJFBbennett , is an independent artist. It is raining in Taipei

Image
It is raining in Taipei  (A Jazz Ballad for a Warm Rainy Day) Left my umbrella folded, didn’t care Stepped into a street that shimmered everywhere Neon bleeding red and green Where the wet world makes a mirror of everything Some dressed in a ghost-white cape Life slips on by—no honk, no haste Just the rhythm on the awning And the smell of Taipei in the rain Oh, rain on the asphalt, warm and slow Where the city leans in soft and low No place to go, nowhere to be Just the rain, just the rain, just the rain and me And when I dry off and turn the key I won’t remember what I saw, you see I’ll remember how I slowed enough to feel That surrender is the only thing that’s real Shhh… just the rain… Mmm, just the rain. Yeah. Be Creative and Innovative with Knowledge John Bennett - AKA JJFBbennett , is an independent artist. Travel Australia Daly Waters to Cloncurry

Image
DAY TWO Today, we embark on another day of driving through the vast Australian Outback. Our journey takes us from Daly Waters in the Northern Territory to Cloncurry in Queensland. We are all packed and excited for another adventure! Travelling over 11,000 kilometres will take approximately 13 hours, including some pit stops. Thankfully, the Northern Territory has a speed limit of 130 km/h. Last night, we stayed at the Daly Waters Highway Inn, which has a pet-friendly policy. The sunrise over the trees in Daly Waters was spectacular. Our dog settled in and enjoyed the evening and morning walk. The Stuart Highway is the main road in the Northern Territory, stretching for a long distance where road trains frequently travel. These enormous trucks, which can pull multiple trailers, are impressive to see. Along the highway, there are plenty of long straight strips and overtaking lanes, allowing us to overtake large vehicles at speeds not allowed elswhere in Australia. Passing a road tr...

Travel Australia Darwin to Daly Waters

Image
DAY ONE Our trusty Subaru Forester was packed with me, my partner Brenda, Katchalla (our concerned but enthusiastic spoodle), and enough snacks to survive a tiny apocalypse. With our brand new Brass Monkey securely tucked into the boot, we set off on our mission: the first leg of an epic journey from Darwin to Ulladulla, NSW, with Daly Waters shimmering in our minds as our initial oasis. We departed from Darwin, the tropical humidity clinging to us like a second skin. After about 98 kilometers, the promise of caffeine lured us into the Adelaide River Country Store. Brenda, ever the coffee connoisseur, declared their coffee to be "a damn good coffee," which is a high compliment indeed. Meanwhile, Katcha sniffed around, searching for the right spot to relieve himself and stumbled upon the store's no dickhead policy. Back on the Stuart Highway, the landscape began to slowly transform. The lush greens of Darwin gradually gave way to the more resilient vegetation of the outb...

Seeking an Alternative Universe

Image
Hypostyle Hall with Sleeping Dog The air hummed with the echoes of a thousand conversations that have been forgotten. Barcelona's Alternative Universe I am in an immersive scene of an alternative universe. The rough texture of Gaudí's stone sculptures beckons me to sit down and calm down.  A story of natural inspiration is whispered with each jagged and uneven surface. The sculptures are crowned with agave plants. Their sharp, thick leaves contrast against a dense canopy's soft, green backdrop. The air carries a hint of earthiness, mingled with the fresh vibrancy of the surrounding foliage, enhancing the sensory dialogue between the viewer and the environment. This interplay of textures and the organic presence of the sculptures create a tactile and visual symphony. I want to celebrate Gaudí's masterful integration of nature into architectural form. It deepens my connection with the natural world through sensory experience. The Golden Embrace In the golden embrace of ...

A Romantic Celebration

Image
A Romantic Celebration They sit under the dim, flickering candles and the glow of a dusk-soaked horizon. Their faces are drawn tight with the weight of unspoken truths. The city below sprawls like a labyrinth of enchanted uncertainties, its lights starting to blink like fractured stars as if taunting them with the chaos they’ve chosen to leave behind or perhaps walk into. Their glasses, half-empty or half-full depending on one’s disposition, quiver in their hands with every shallow sip. The man, his jacket glinting as though armoured against his hesitations, stares at the woman with a tender and probing gaze. But his eyes don’t rest entirely on her; they pierce through her, reaching toward a reflection of himself. She, wrapped in the blood-red softness of her dress, sits poised but restless. Her lips parted slightly, perhaps to say something, but the weight of their journey and the choice to abandon one life for another seals her words before they can escape.  It may be a su...
