Entering Manila

I'm entering Manila.

Under the Metro Manila Skyway. 

I'm in the shadows.

The tropical sunshine creates theatrical veils.

Two motorcycle riders move with an effortless grace that speaks of freedom.

They weave through traffic, a fluid dance amid the fast cars and large trucks.

This scene is enchanting despite the seeming danger. 

The motorcycle riders are exposed and vulnerable.

Yet they dance in and out of traffic with certainty and control. 

Searching for safe passage through transient unoccupied space.

Their journey compliments my experience as a tourist.

Cocooned in my protected machine of steel, plastic and rubber.
