  Embers over the Billabong Deeper into the scrub, darkness thickens, steeped in a heavy, ember-red glow. Overhead, the canopy dissolves into silhouettes, twisted paperbark and gum branches clawing through an atmosphere that smoulders with charcoal grit and iron dust. Then, the bush yields to water. Nestled in the basin of the scrub, a still billabong collects the night in an entirely different register. While the air above blazes raw crimson, the surface below gathers cool, luminous pools of cobalt, indigo, and shattered violet. For a moment, the outback’s heat seems suspended. There is only the quiet breathing of timber, the mirrored water holding the dark, and ancient country resting at the threshold between fire and stone. Australian Mass Media Peddles Systemic Racism

The Australian newspaper editor-in-chief, Paul Whittaker describes the following cartoons as "Bill Leak's confronting and insightful cartoons force people to examine the core issues in a way that sometimes reporting and analysis can fail to do". Secretariat of National Aboriginal and Islander Child Care a non-governmental group for Indigenous children and families, called the cartoon "disgusting, disrespectful, and hurtful", adding: "Those involved in publishing such a clearly racist cartoon should be ashamed and should issue a public apology to all Australians." Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency chief executive Muriel Bamblett said it depicted Aboriginal people as "not knowing about their children and not having any role in raising their children". Godin Connectedness  We argued with the vengeance from poorly informed memory. Straight from the loss to blame. For whatever reason it perpetuated justification. Of construeded loss,  from the need to self victimise. To the need of claiming nothing in particular. It was the battle to ingrain and embellish memory. In so, we tore each other apart and to feed individual right. Our eternal want to be known as right. The want for immediate anger to surface, rant and to glorify our past glories of being wronged. And then we rested exhausted.
