The art of futility

Image
Creation doesn’t save. Art stabilises. That’s why art continues after belief has died. Not because it promises something— But because consciousness cannot stop itself. The will to create isn’t heroic. It’s involuntary. A reflex. The art of futility A spoken monologue I don’t make art because it matters. I make it because consciousness produces excess. And excess demands release. That’s the first lie we’re taught—that art points toward truth. Truth doesn’t need us. It existed before our gestures and will remain after our silence. Art isn’t revelation. It’s a regulation. An overdeveloped mind can’t remain idle. Thought accumulates. Pressure builds. Expression becomes a discharge—not a message. This isn’t noble. It’s biological. Paintings. Texts. Sounds. Images. All variations of the same maneuver. Not transcendence . Containment . Once you see this, ambition collapses. Influence. Legacy . Relevance. These are metaphysical debts art can no longer pay. The work is finished the mome...

The Sky is Dark

Image
The sky is dark, and the clouds are gathering ominously. The earth beneath us is parched and cracked, and we know a storm is coming.  The problem is overwhelming, and yet we lack the sense of urgency and immediate action needed to address it.  We have all been crowded into large cities, where our voices are silenced and the needs of society neglected.  Our leaders act in secrecy and ignore our problems, leaving us feeling like we are being swept under the rug.  We stand at a crossroads, frozen by the weight and significance of the decision that we must make.  Our written histories show us that we have always been able to innovate, problem-solve, and transform when we come together.  Let us link arms in unity and face the sunrise. Together, we can transform into a collective community that believes in positive change.  We must demand that our elected leaders create a flourishing society that addresses and resolves the destructive problems we face...

Pokemon go : Get out and about and learn

Image
Went out Pokemon hunting with my android cell phone. In case of accident I always take some friends. Then it occurred to me this, was something I really enjoy. This urge has been around for years. I need to get out and about and discover our environment. Our children are locked within the boundaries of school. They are all locked in and hard skill assessed. Placed on a conveyor belt and sorted into hierarchical pathways. Public school stripped of all that is creative. Even the arts are disciplined. In school -where is the sense of fun and play and being part of it all. What if formal learning was stationed like Pokemon go. Where youth could congregated and learn in multiple locations. Where learning encouraged youth to collectively gather and play. Where unstructured activity blended with formal knowledge. Where youth gained freedoms to self-govern, create rules, problem-solve and resolve social conflicts. The employment skills of tomorrow require youth who ca...
