What is the Churn of the Unmade

Image
What is the Churn of the Unmade?  Metamodernist art by JJFBbennett It isn’t just paint; it’s the heavy, exhausting gravity of pure affectation. I applied these deep purples and stark whites with a thick palette knife, wanting you to feel the weight of the medium itself—the messy, chaotic over-saturation of our digital lives, the constant noise. It’s dense, tactile, and completely overwhelming. But  The chaos is interrupted by a line of perfect, unyielding geometry. A clear glass ring slicing straight through the noise. This physical ring stands as the initial boundary of awareness. On one side, the suffocating density of raw human expression and digital noise; on the other, a clean, projected window into an idealised, quiet simplicity.  Where does the noise end, and where does our awareness truly begin? The glass ring doesn't just divide the canvas; it bridges two entirely different eras of the soul.  Look to the left. You see that heavy, anxious abstract expr...

Barcelona a Stairway to Enchantment

Decent into the Valley Below The Dream We descended from the heights of the medieval town, winding down narrow cobblestone paths that led toward the valley below, where the bustling city awaited. The sun cast warm light on the weathered stone walls, illuminating our way as we ventured further. The weight of the sky pressed down around us as if challenging us to dream bigger. This powerful promise resonated like a distant heartbeat. The air carried with it the scents of earth and stone mixed with something more—perhaps the taste of adventure or the thrill of escaping the confines of the town we had known so well. The Reality We descended from the little rented room, four floors up, with the sun bouncing off the plaster walls. The weight of the sky pressed down on us as if daring us to dream bigger. We squinted, sho...

A Ghoul in a Cage in a Rose Garden

Image
A Ghoul in a Cage in a Rose Garden In a rose garden lived a Ghoul who tended to each rose with care and pride.  One day, a righteous wizard trapped him in a cage, leaving him alone in despair.  The Ghoul was initially consumed by sadness and anger, but he chose to focus on the roses and nurture them.  He even befriended the lizards and insects that visited him.  When I encountered him in the garden, I asked why he was trapped.   To my surprise, the Ghoul replied with a smile.  And said, "The cage is trapped in me, not the other way around."
