The characters thus embody the classic dichotomy between logic/control (BK) and emotion/instinct (JB), a tension that becomes central to their survival when their advanced technology fails and they are forced into the realm of the psychological (the anomaly). They represent two vital, yet opposing, parts of the human response to existential chaos: the attempt to catalogue and talk through the terror, versus the primal urge to act and accept the turmoil.
Their identities are in constant flux—changing race, age, and form. Host Alex and guest Dr. V dive deep into this "multiverse" concept to explore the two constant, warring psychologies at the heart of the Subi crew:
How does a logical mind handle "Paraknowing"—the feeling of certainty without process? How does an emotional mind survive a "black hole" of internal chaos? This conversation tackles the core theme: the internal human experience of logic vs. instinct is the one true anchor, even when everything else changes.
Psychological Fire X
The core conflict between BK and JB is not a mere personality clash but the engine driving their narrative, particularly after the violent collapse of their advanced, technologically-dependent world. As their tools fail and reality dissolves into the "anomaly"—a psychological and existential threat—this inner tension is laid bare.
Their opposing views represent two fundamental, yet necessary, facets of the human response to breakdown. BK's emphasis on control provides vital mental structure, while JB's reliance on instinct offers the raw, immediate drive for survival. This very conflict is simultaneously their greatest potential strength. Ultimately, their survival depends on whether these warring philosophies can, under extreme duress, forge a precarious but essential synergy.

My Alien Plasma I made two digital artworks, each with a different approach. The first, Alien Plasma Neo, uses advanced digital editing to show a highly detailed energy being. The second, Plasma Alien, is a gestural painting that focuses on raw emotion. My interest in the 'energy being' theme comes from a lifelong curiosity about forces and life forms beyond what we usually see. I find energies and unseen phenomena fascinating because they represent transformation, vitality, and the mystery at the centre of my creativity. I want to explore how to visually convey inner power and life force, using both digital tools and painting techniques. I like experimenting with different tools to change an artwork. Comparing these two pieces shows how my intent shifts, much as a traditional artist might try out new media and methods. Alien Plasma Neo My first piece, Alien Plasma Neo, was all about hyper-definition and symmetry. I wanted to show this being at its highest energy, even down t...
Drifting Clouds between Hong Kong and Guangzhou When I was suspended in that atmospheric corridor between Hong Kong and Guangzhou, I was struck by how the sky felt like a turbulent yet tender expanse. I wanted my watercolour strokes to blend and blur on the paper, mimicking the ever-shifting weather patterns of the region. That is of moisture-laden clouds dissolve effortlessly into brilliant, open patches of blue. For me, this piece is an impressionistic echo of that flight. I was trying to capture that fleeting, weightless moment of looking out into a vast horizon, right when the heavens feel both endlessly deep and close enough to touch.
