  My Alien Plasma I made two digital artworks, each with a different approach. The first, Alien Plasma Neo, uses advanced digital editing to show a highly detailed energy being. The second, Plasma Alien, is a gestural painting that focuses on raw emotion. My interest in the 'energy being' theme comes from a lifelong curiosity about forces and life forms beyond what we usually see. I find energies and unseen phenomena fascinating because they represent transformation, vitality, and the mystery at the centre of my creativity. I want to explore how to visually convey inner power and life force, using both digital tools and painting techniques. I like experimenting with different tools to change an artwork. Comparing these two pieces shows how my intent shifts, much as a traditional artist might try out new media and methods. The Progess - Nu Jazz by JJFBbennett

Intro:
Under the canopy of night, the mega city breathes.  
Its streets, bathed in artificial glow, stretch out, endless.  
Bridges and towers, silent sentinels, stand tall against the darkness,  
Their lights are a beacon for our weary souls wandering beneath them.

Verse 1:
In this city of dreams and realities intertwined.  
Cars drift slowly, each a microcosm, each a solitary journey.  
The horizon promises more of the same. 
A continuation of the unknown, the unseen, the unspoken.

Chorus 1:
And the lights, they tell stories,  
But from afar, they blend into a tapestry of light and shadow.  
A cold, distant beauty,  
Reminding us of the vastness we pretend to understand.
The vastness.

The city hums, a melody of human achievement,  
Yet within its pulse, the silent voices go unheard.  
Each window, a world, each light, a fragment of a life,  
Together, they form a pattern.  
A design too grand to decipher.

But from afar, they blend into a tapestry of light and shadow.  
A cold, distant beauty,  
Reminding us of the vastness we pretend to understand.

In the face of such immensity,  
We embrace the absurdity,  
Find comfort in the struggle,  
And push forward, constantly pushing,  
In this Sisyphean dance with life.

  The Struggle for Authenticity in Art I want to speak today about authenticity . And about what we quietly give up to be accepted. We’re told that contemporary political art values autonomy . That artists are free. That inquiry sits at the centre of practice. But autonomy, in reality, is often something we *perform*— not something we’re allowed to exercise. Freedom is celebrated rhetorically, while legitimacy is granted only when work conforms to approved languages , approved theories , approved causes . Autonomy isn’t denied outright. It’s curated. This system doesn’t fail artists by accident. It functions mechanically. It rewards work that aligns with predetermined frameworks and filters out work that doesn’t speak the sanctioned dialect .   Drifting Clouds between Hong Kong and Guangzhou When I was suspended in that atmospheric corridor between Hong Kong and Guangzhou, I was struck by how the sky felt like a turbulent yet tender expanse. I wanted my watercolour strokes to blend and blur on the paper, mimicking the ever-shifting weather patterns of the region. That is of moisture-laden clouds dissolve effortlessly into brilliant, open patches of blue. For me, this piece is an impressionistic echo of that flight. I was trying to capture that fleeting, weightless moment of looking out into a vast horizon, right when the heavens feel both endlessly deep and close enough to touch.
